Juicing Vs. Blending: Which is Right for You?

Juicing Vs. Blending: Which is Right for You?

“Juicing” and “blending” are two hot topics in the diet and nutrition world right now. Both have major nutritional benefits, but which is the better option for you? Here, we’ll explain the difference between the two, along with the pros and cons of both methods!

Despite popular belief, juicing and blending are two very different techniques. Juicing is a process that extracts the nutrients and natural juices of fresh produce and discards what is not needed. With juicing, nutrients are more readily available to the body in much larger quantities than if you were to simply eat the fruits and vegetables whole. With juicing, the downside is that with less fiber, there’s a tendency to get hungry again very quickly.

Blending is an entirely different process because of the way it processes the nutrients. Unlike juicing, blending creates a smoothie that consists of the entire fruit or vegetable rather than extracting only the nutrients. Smoothies made with the “blending” technique tend to be more filling because of the fiber. In addition, the processing time is quicker – these smoothies make for an easy breakfast or snack throughout the day! Here are some delicious and nutritious smoothie recipes!

Natural Alternatives

If you do not consume the daily recommended amounts of fruits and vegetables, juicing and blending could be the best method for you. If you need an EXTRA boost, plant foods help improve the quality of the diet of individuals who do not consume enough fruits and vegetables. You can find natural plant foods in supplements, commonly called Superfoods, that contain all of the vitamins, minerals and nutrients you need in just one scoop!

So whether you decide to go with juicing, blending, or a combination of both, remember that it’s best to go for an option that best suits your personal needs! If you’re looking for more substance like me, blending is the way to go. I love to mix nonfat yogurt, nuts, and fruits for a delicious blended smoothie. But at times, I like to have fresh carrot and mango juice, and that’s where juicing is a much more handy option!
