Your Guide to Drug-Induced Nutrient Depletion

Your Guide to Drug-Induced Nutrient Depletion

All too often, our health issues require prescription or over-the-counter medications in order to resolve themselves. Certain drugs – including opiate painkillers, blood pressure medications, corticosteroids, antibiotics, tricyclic antidepressants, and even OTC drugs as innocent as aspirin and antacids – are all capable of causing severe nutrient depletions in our bodies.  This absence of important nutrients like Folic Acid, Beta-Carotene, Potassium, and endless other naturally-occurring chemicals in our bodies can lead to unpleasant side effects and an overall imbalance in your system.

Whether you occasionally take a pharmaceutical like an antibiotic, or count on a drug long term such as a cholesterol health lowering statin, your need for specific nutrients increases. You must be aware that many prescriptions, as well as commonly used over-the-counter drugs, cause potentially serious nutrient depletions. For your convenience, we here at InVite® Health have devised a Drug-Induced Nutrient Depletion Chart with a list of drugs and non-prescription medications and the nutrients they deplete. This in turn will give you an idea of the nutrients your body needs, which can be found in our high-quality InVite® Health supplements.

The Winter Immunity Program from InVite Health includes three great supplements – Nucleotide Complex, Green Tea Tx, and L-Carnosine – that work together to help with some of the major health issues that surface during the winter. Together, these three nutrients help to maintain a healthy immune system and consistent energy level throughout the winter season.

Nucleotides are naturally found in fish, poultry, legumes and breast milk. These nutritional “building blocks” support body tissues, as well as help support your immune system and energy levels.

Green Tea Tx, a green tea tincture supplement, helps to support overall health. InVite®’s decaffeinated green tea extract provides powerful catechins including EGCG, the most valuable antioxidant component in green tea. Our liquid green-tea extract is fluoride-free and derived from an organic source.

L-Carnosine contains powerful antioxidants that provide nutritional support for the eyes, skin, blood vessels and brain. It also helps support muscles to avoid muscle fatigue, stiffening and soreness during winter workouts.

Tincture FAQ’s

What are the benefits of tinctures over pills?
Our tinctures have been formulated to deliver the maximum health benefits of its natural ingredients without the unpleasant taste that comes along with many liquid medications. Convenient, portable and easy to use, InVite® tinctures can be an enjoyable alternative to pills and capsules, especially for those who don’t like taking pills and those who have difficulty swallowing.

Are the tea-based tinctures safe for children?
Our green tea tinctures and those with caffeine are not recommended for children. However, our fruit-derived tinctures (Acai Tx®, BlueGranate Tx®, and Mangosteen Tx®), are excellent antioxidants for children.

Why are some nutrients not available as tinctures?
We are committed to developing a wide variety of targeted tinctures for our customers. However, some dietary ingredients may not be suitable as tinctures if they:

  • Are more stable in a dry format
  • May have a poor taste in liquid
  • May require too large a serving size to fit in a dropper
